Julia Valle Noronha

Julia Valle Noronha is a designer-researcher and Associate Professor at the Estonian Academy of Arts. She holds a DA in Design (Aalto University, Finland), MA in Visual Arts with a focus on Art and Technology (UFRJ, Brazil) and a BSc in Social Communication (UFMG, Brazil). With 15 year experience in clothing and fashion design practice, Julia seamlessly bridges professional and academic experiences. Her fields of interest in research and practice revolve around wearer-worn engagements, alternative modes of producing, consuming and experiencing clothing, as well as intersections between fashion, technology and education. 

At present, she is a Visiting Researcher at Aalto University, where she explores practice informed research in fashion, and a researcher in Fashion SEEDS, an Erasmus+ project that supports the development of design-led education for sustainability in the field of fashion.
