Images of the body. Representations of the female designer’s artistic process

The main challenge of the research project is to look at women’s experience of subjectivity that is transformed by the process of aging. How does the overlapping qualities – female gender and age – maintain or change the heteronormative order. The project seeks to unfold the structure of heteronormativity and the construction process of female subjectivity through art and craft-related practices. The artifacts that are produced during this research project have their origin in experiential knowledge. The material narratives of the female body are interpreted in the theoretical field of gender studies.
