Maiju Suomi is an architect and an educator working in the field of environmental architecture.

In her practice and teaching she is intrigued by the possibilities of expressing different world views through the embodied multisensory experience of space. She is passionate about finding new ways of bridging nature and culture in the built environment. In her practice-based research she explores how moving beyond a human-centered conception of the world affects design thinking in architectural practice and how it could translate into architectural aesthetics.

She holds a MSc in architecture (Aalto University) and BSc in architecture (Aalto University).
